Kevin Mark Byrd

Kevin Mark Byrd, 52, of Telford, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, September 13, 2014 at his residence. He was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County. Mr. Byrd was a son of Sarah Lucille Ward Byrd of Johnson City and the late Lawrence Byrd. He was a self-employed tire dealer. Mr. Byrd attended the Lighthouse of Truth Church and loved to worship in tent revivals whenever he could. He loved his family and truly loved God. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a brother, Darryl Byrd and a sister, Kathy Byrd. Survivors in addition to his mother includes his loving wife, Kimberly Radford Byrd of the home; a son, Mark Byrd and his wife, Erin of Johnson City; a daughter, Sarah Ward and her husband, Wesley of Roan Mountain; a sister, Brenda Adams and husband, Mark of Elizabethton; four brothers, Joel Byrd of Telford, Allen Byrd and wife, Tammy of Chuckey, Wade Byrd and wife Lori and Ivan Byrd all of Elizabethton; four grandchildren, Haley and Abigail Byrd and Alexus and Josiah Ward; several nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. Funeral services for Mr. Byrd will be conducted at 1:30 PM Tuesday, September 16, 2014 in the Bread of Life Fellowship Church, Meredith Street, Johnson City with Pastors Kim Casey and Todd Ellis officiating. Interment will follow in the Washington County Memory Gardens with Pastor Kim Casey and Rev. Wesley Ward officiating. Pallbearers will be Johnny Ward, James and Allen Byrd, Bobby Mays, Jonathan and Nathaniel McClanahan and Robbie Southerland. The family will greet friends at the church Tuesday from 12:00 to 1:30 PM. Also Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the home of the son, 900 E. Main Street, Johnson City. The family would like to give special thanks to the entire staff of Mountain States Hospice and to the family and friends for all of their support and kindness.
