Keith Edward Cox

Keith Edward "Uncle D" Cox, age 53, of Johnson City, left this world to play in the Angel Band on Monday, March 14, 2016 at the Johnson City Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was a native of Johnson City, but has lived most of his life in Piney Flats. He was a son of the late Jack and Betty Jean Cox. Keith attended Tri-City Church of God. He loved to sing and play the guitar, and he taught himself to play numerous instruments. Keith was known to have a green thumb, and loved to work in the flower garden. He loved Nascar, and was a fan of Bill Elliott. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Chuck Cox. Survivors include two sisters, Brenda Mohler and husband Donnie McMurray, Hiltons, VA, Teresa Tino and husband Nathan, Gray, TN; a son, Andy Cox, Bluff City; uncle, Carl Hensley and wife Anita, Jonesborough; aunt, Fern Dickerson, Ducktown, TN. Twelve nieces and ten nephews. Several cousins and close friends also survived. He also leaves behind his loving Cat MaKayla, of the home. The funeral service for Mr. Cox will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 16, 2016 in the chapel of Woodall-Anderson & Dugger Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Bawguss and Rev. Jeff Millsaps officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. in the chapel of the funeral home or at other times at the home of Jessica Miller, 119 W. Tenth Avenue Johnson City. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 12:00 P.M. Thursday from Fairview Cemetery, Jonesborough. Active pallbearers will be Brooke Tino, Nathan Tino, Shiloh Ferguson, Donnie McMurray, Tony Price, and Rob Keeling.
