Mrs. Kathy Kay Harris, 57, 1116 E. Myrtle Avenue, Johnson City passed away at her residence Sunday, June 2, 2013. She was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City and was a daughter of the late Bonita Witt Roberts. Mrs. Harris had worked at Asbury Center and was a member of the Greenwood Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and Nanaw. Her faith in God and family was an inspiration to all who knew her. In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by a sister, Teresa Smithpeters. Survivors include her husband, Charles K. Harris of the home; a daughter, Tracie Murdock of Old Fort, NC; a son Charles "Chuckie" Harris II and his wife, Dreamea of Johnson City; a sister, Sheila Yaffe of Florida; three brothers, Timothy Wilson, Greeneville, Dennis Roberts, Elizabethton and Cowan Roberts; an aunt, Katy Woods, Johnson City; seven grandchildren, Austin and Ryan Murdock, Charles R. Harris III, Bethany, Cameron, Cody and Michelle Harris; several nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Mrs. Harris will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 5, 2013 in the Woodall-Anderson and Dugger Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold McNabb officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Johnson City. Pallbearers will be Stacy Bailey, Darin Harris, Mickey Gray, Alan Harris, Edwin Burleson, Charles Harris III, Austin Murdock, Nick Burleson and Ryan Murdock. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 12:30 PM until the service hour.
