Karen G. Davis, 51, 127 Carson Drive, Johnson City passed away Monday, April 14, 2014 in the Holston Valley Medical Center. She was a native of Carter County and had lived in Johnson City most of her life. Karen was a daughter of Phyllis Bates Davis of Johnson City and the late Lloyd J. Davis Jr... She had worked as an office manager for Food City before her illness. Karen attended the Bible Church in Johnson City and loved animals, camping and the outdoors. She was an avid NASCAR fan. In addition to her mother she is survived by five sisters, Sonya Carden of Johnson City, Lisa Richardson and husband, Danny and Nancy Eddins all of Elizabethton, Shelia Russell and husband, Dick and Sandy Neid and husband, Bob all of Florida; a brother, Lloyd J. Davis Jr. of Johnson City; special friends, Susan and Dan Widener, Fred Smith and Joe George; also several nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Karen will be conducted at 7:00 PM Thursday, April 17, 2014 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 PM until the service hour. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, April 18, 2014 in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jason, Adam and Lloyd Davis Jr., Chris Mathes, Dereck Payne and Mike Wilson. For those attending this service you are asked to meet at the funeral home Friday by 10:30 AM to go in procession to the cemetery.
