Joseph Winfield Tessa

Joseph Winfield Tessa, 67 of Elizabethton passed away unexpectedly Monday, May 23, 2016 in Morgantown, WV. He was a native of Bluefield, WV and was a son of the late Steven and Edna Manor Tessa. Mr. Tessa retired from General Motors of Maryland. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying golfing, hunting, fishing, boating and camping with his family and friends. Mr. Tessa was born in Bluefield where he lived until moving to Delaware in 1966. At retirement he moved back home to Bluefield then to Elizabethton in 2002. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Price Jr.; also two sisters, Infant sister, Francis May and Joyce Phelps. Survivors include his loving wife, Joann Lucas Tessa; four daughters, Crystal Tessa of Florida, Carol Riccio and Danny of Maryland, Linda Jablonski of Elizabethton and Joanna Price of Florida; five brothers, Junior, Mike, Bill, Dale and David Tessa all of Bluefield, WV; five sisters, Drema Hayes, Karen Thompson, Sherry Blankenship, Cindy Ritchie and Teresa Dillon all of Bluefield, WV; six grandchildren, Kenneth Price, Russell McKinley, Sharon Wiggins, Tommy Riccio, Edward Jablonski and Brandon Riccio; six, great-grandchildren, Destiny, Rusty, Kara, Avery, Bella and Tom-Tom; a special cousin, Robert Pennington and wife, Freda of Florida; also several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services for Mr. Tessa will be conducted at 7:00 PM Friday, May 27, 2016 in the Happy Valley Church of Jesus Christ with Pastor Donny Reagan officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 5:00 PM until the service hour. A private committal service will be held at a later date.
