Joseph Norman Henley, 80, 502 University Parkway, Johnson City passed away Monday, September 24, 2012 at his residence. He was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City and was a son of the late Joseph and Lula Matheson Henley. Mr. Henley had worked in the real estate business for many years. He also was a very talented musician and traveled the southeast with his group, Joe Henley and his Orchestra for over 40 years. Mr. Henley was a longtime member of the Grandview Christian Church. He is survived by a sister, Barbara Styles and her husband, Calvin and a brother, Gerald Henley and his wife, Sue all of Jonesborough; a nephew, Robert Styles and his wife, Sandy of Destin, FL; two nieces, Cynthia Collins and her husband, Kevin and Angela Nowell and her husband, Joe all of Knoxville; six great-nieces, Kelsey Styles, Kayce Collins, Jane Francis Nowell, Sarah Nowell, Lillian Nowell and Caroline Nowell; two great-nephews, Alex Styles and Will Collins. A graveside service for Mr. Henley will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 26, 2012 in the Fairview Cemetery, Highway 81, Jonesborough with Aaron Wymer, Minister officiating. Everyone attending this service is asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:50 PM. There will be no formal visitation. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to the Grandview Christian Church, 300 University Parkway, Johnson City, TN 37604.
