John Frank Simms

John Frank Simms, 79, 250 Mosier Road, Johnson City passed away Monday, March 28, 2016 at his residence. He was a native of Beech Mountain, NC and was a son of the late Frank and Ruby Mae Blevins Simms. Mr. Blevins was a self-employed painter. He enjoyed fishing and listening to country music. Mr. Blevins was a people person who never met a stranger. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Iris Wilson Simms in 2012; a son, John Anthony Simms; a brother, Jack Simms; a sister, Lillian Penix and a brother-in-law, Ray Arp. Survivors include a daughter, Gina Loveless and husband, Joey of Johnson City; two sons, Michael "Dan" Simms and Sara Tuggle of Telford and Joe Simms and Samantha Milhorn of Jonesborough; two brothers, Sam Simms and wife, Gail of Chuckey and Jim Simms and wife, Betty of Sulphur Springs; a sister, Rose Arp of Kingsport; ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; also several nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Mr. Simms will be conducted at 7:00 PM Monday, April 4, 2016 in the Woodall-Anderson and Dugger Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Deaton officiating.
