John Stevens Crumb, 85, Johnson City passed away Sunday, April 29, 2018 in Johnson City. He was a native of and lifelong resident of Johnson City and was a son of the late James and Ossie Sailor Crumb. Mr. Crumb had worked in maintenance most of his life and had retired last year after working for Wal-Mart. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and was a member of the Calvary Church in Boones Creek. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Ina Margaret Snapp Crumb in 2013 and a sister, Frances Brown. Survivors include two sons, John Crumb and his wife, Faith of Woodstock, Georgia and Eric Crumb of Johnson City; a daughter, Frances Godfrey and her husband, Bill Godfrey Jr. of Johnson City; three grandsons, Adam, Nicholas and Zachary Godfrey; two step-grandsons, William and Christopher Godfrey; also several nieces and nephews and his Wal-Mart family. Graveside services for Mr. Crumb will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 5, 2018 in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends at Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 PM. Condolences may be made online at www.wadugger.com.
