John Grover Barnett

John G. Barnett Jr., 71, 345 Rauhof Road, Telford passed away Saturday, January 25, 2014 at his residence. He was a native of Johnson City and was a son of the late John and Pauline Shelton Barnett. Mr. Barnett was retired from Borax Mines in Boron, California. He was a veteran having served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Survivors include his loving wife, Angie Tomlinson Barnett; three daughters, Mary Douthat and husband, Greg of Bulls Gap, Cheryl Poplawski and husband, Scott of Pennsylvania and Candace Barnett of Nebraska; three sons, Dennis Crouthers and wife, Shannon, John G. Barnett III and Samuel Barnett all of Jonesborough; a brother, Lucky Hensley of Johnson City; seventeen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life service for Mr. Barnett will be conducted at his residence Friday, February 7, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM with Greg Douthat officiating.
