Jimmy D. Vance, 58, 490 Washington College Road, Limestone passed away at his residence Friday, March 30, 2012. He was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County and was a son of the late Lorenza and Nancy Vance. Mr. Vance was a farmer and brick mason and was a member of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Gourley. Survivors include a son Jimmy Lee Vance of Johnson City; a daughter, Amy Piercy and her husband, Kevin, Telford; a step-son, Michael Surber, Johnson City; three sisters, Brenda Blevins and her husband, Danny, Erwin, Barbara Peters and her husband, Tim, Chuckey and Wanda Buchanan and her husband, Bud of Erwin; four brothers, Gaither Vance and his wife, Elsie, Chuckey, Roger Vance and his wife, Gracie, Telford, Webb Vance, Limestone and Homer Vance of Telford; a grandson, Cody Surber and wife, Savannah, Johnson City; a granddaughter, Cheyenne Piercy; a great-granddaughter, Chloe Surber; special friends, Jerry and Barbara Miller also several nieces and nephews. The graveside service for Mr. Vance will be conducted at 2:30 PM Tuesday, April 3, 2012 in the Cherokee Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM then proceed to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jerry Grindstaff, James Miller, Jason Vance, Cody Surber, Jerry Miller, Jeff Grindstaff and Michael Surber. Woodall-Anderson and Dugger Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 108 W. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City is serving the Vance family.
