Jeane (Rowe) Clay

Jeane Rowe Clay, 90 of Johnson City passed away Thursday, August 16, 2018 at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County and was the daughter of the late Ringgold and Marie Price Rowe. Mrs. Clay was a teacher with the Sullivan County School System for 33 years of service. She graduated from ETSU where she received her B.S. and M.A. in Elementary Education. While there she was a member of the Pi Sigma Sorority. Mrs. Clay was a member of the First Christian Church. She enjoyed gardening and outdoor activities.Survivors include a son, Bob Clay Jr. of Johnson City; two daughters, Judy Biles and husband, Bill of Johnson City and Carol Clay and Mac Chambers of Greensboro, NC; two granddaughters, Tia Sams and husband, Eric of Elizabethton and Sallie Biles of Johnson City.Memorial services for Mrs. Clay will be conducted at 3:00 PM Sunday in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City with Mr. Scott Fisher officiating. The family will greet friends from 2:00 PM until the service hour.Condolences may be made online at www.wadugger.com.
