Janice Marie Hartley Wright, 69, of Jonesborough went home to be with the Lord on Thursday May 14, 2020 surrounded by her family. Janice was born to the late James and Ethel Hartley in Carter County. Janice attended Full Gospel Holiness Church. She loved the Lord and her family very much. Janice spent her career as a caregiver. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband; Vern (Bo) Wright, brothers; Eugene, James, and Jessie Hartley, brother-in-laws; Jerome Stockton, and Raymond Vanover, sister-in-law; Lois Hartley. Those left to cherish Janice’s memory include her daughter; Lorie Kilby and husband Richard, son; Jerry Jenkins and wife Amanda, sisters; Geraldine Wagner and husband Murrell, Betty Vanover, sister-in-law; Helen Stockton, step daughters; Angie Kardos and husband Joe, and Leslie Wright, grandchildren; Dillan and Heather Wright, Morgan, and Jacob Jenkins, Avery Gallam and Caitlin Lovin and husband Dylan. Along with several special nieces and nephews. The Wright family will gather to greet friends and share memories on Sunday May 17, 2020 at Appalachian Funeral Home in Johnson City from 2:00pm-4:00pm. A Funeral Service will follow at 4:00pm with Rev. Terry Barnett and Rev. Robert Keller officiating. A Committal Service will follow the Funeral at the Funeral Home and a private burial will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park on Monday. Honorary pall bears will be Dillan Wright, Jacob Jenkins, Avery Gallam, Morgan Jenkins, Caitlin Lovin, and Heather Wright. Everyone who wishes to attend the service is asked to practice social distancing and take all possible precautions. The Wright family would like to extend a special thank you to Caris Hospice and the staff of NHC Healthcare in Johnson City.

I loved Janice dearly, and went to church with her for many years. She will be missed greatly. Oh the rejoicing in heaven, some of this family has made it home!
