James Lee Owens

James (Jim) Owens, 72 of 1160 Huffine Road, #16, Johnson City passed away Thursday, October 4, 2012 in the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City and was a son of the late Robert and Laura Winters Owens. Mr. Owens was the Director of the Haven of Mercy for 13 years. He was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, James Lee Owens Jr.; a sister, Brenda Dunn; a brother, Danny Owens. He his survived by his wife of 38 years, Bobbie Arnett Owens; three daughters, Robin Malobabich and Vickie Fields both of Jonesborough and Tina Trent and her husband Bill of Elizabethton; two sons, Stacy Owens and Amanda and Chris Owens all of Johnson City; a step-son, Johnny Scott IV and his wife Cindy of North Carolina; a step-daughter, Janisha Warnert and her husband, Scott of Johnson City; two sisters, Patsy Abel and Bettie Gilley and her husband Charles of Johnson City; two brothers, Ernest Owens and his wife Linda of Gray and Michael Owens and his wife, Diane of Jonesborough; thirteen grandchildren, Seth, Heather, William, Jessica, Adam, Kayla, Clayton, Xavier, Dru, Caiden, Zachary, Jeremy and Gavyn; ten great-grandchildren; also several nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service for Mr. Owens will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, October 20, 2012 in the Washington County Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Paul Crowe officiating.
