James Larry Bare

James "Larry" Bare, 64, 410 Rockingham Road, Gray passed away Sunday, February 3, 2013 in the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native of Carter County and was a son of the late Charlie and Beulah Morris Bare. Mr. Bare had worked for Keezel's Paint and Body Shop for many years and retired from the V.A. Hospital where he worked in housekeeping. He attended Mountain View Church of Christ. Larry was a member of the TN-VA Beagle Club and enjoyed running his dogs. He also was an avid sports fan. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and John Bare. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Campbell Bare; a daughter, Michelle Bare of the home; two special sisters-in-law, Wanda Grace and Gail Johnson both of Gray; a brother-in-law, C.J. Campbell; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Bare will be conducted at 1:30 PM Friday, February 8, 2013 in the Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City with Mr. Kermit Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain Home National Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Boone Dam VFW Honor Guard Detail. Pallbearers will be Keith Garland, Zachary Campbell, Jason Campbell, Johnny Bare, Jack Patrick and Howard Patrick. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 12:00 to 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the family to assist with funeral costs. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Jeff R. Farrow for all of his wonderful care he provided to Larry and the family.
