Iris Madge Simms

Iris Madge Simms, 69, 250 Mosier Road, Johnson City passed away Friday, June 29, 2012 at the residence of her son in Telford. She was a native of Carter County but had lived most of her life in Johnson City. Mrs. Simms was the daughter of the late Earl and Edith Shoun Wilson. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son Anthony (Tony) Simms. Survivors include her husband of 52 years, John Simms; a daughter, Gina Loveless and her husband, Joey of Telford; two sons, Michael Simms and his fiancee, Sara Tuggle of Telford and Joe Simms and Samantha of Johnson City; two uncles, George Wilson, Elizabethton and Walter Patrick of Johnson City; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; special friends, Ray and Karen Smith; two cousins and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Mrs. Simms will be conducted at 5:00 PM Tuesday, July 3, 2012 in the Woodall-Anderson and Dugger Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Ponder officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 4:00 PM until the service hour.
