Iliff B. Allen

Iliff B. Allen, 95, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014 in the Life Care Center of Elizabethton. She was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County. Mrs. Allen was born February 12, 1919 to the late Remer and Bessie Zimmerman Huffine. She was the co-owner of Allen Refrigeration and a homemaker. Mrs. Allen attended Munsey Memorial Methodist Church. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Allen Sr. in 2004; a sister, Jewell Huffine and four brothers, Manuel, Claude, Richard and Earnest Huffine. She is survived by a son, Jesse Allen Jr. of Johnson City; a daughter, Mary Shepard and husband, Robert of Johnson City; grandsons, Robert "Bobby" Allen, Washington County, John Allen Dillow of Charlotte, NC and Troy R. Dillow and wife, Melissa of Jonesborough; a great-grandson, John Ryan Dillow; a special friend, Carolyn Allen; also several nieces and nephews. Graveside services for Mrs. Allen will be conducted at 2:30 PM Friday, March 28, 2014 in the Monte Vista Memorial Park with Pastor Larry Dugger officiating. Everyone attending the service is asked to meet at the cemetery. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Life Care Center of Elizabethton for the wonderful care they provided.
