Hugh Lester Reed

Hugh Lester (Bud) Reed, 79, 1000 McArthur Street, Johnson City changed houses Wednesday, April 2, 2014 in the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City and was a son of the late Virgil and Carrie Adams Reed. Mr. Reed was owner and operator of B&R Tire Store in Johnson City. He was co-founder of the Upper Room Family Worship Center. Mr. Reed loved the Lord, his church and all of his family. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Doris Marshall Reed in 2000; a brother, Willie Reed and a sister, Ortha Ison. Survivors include his wife, Jean Reed of the home; a daughter, Judy Dobbins and husband, Carroll of Palm Bay, FL; two sons, Robert Reed and wife, Debbie of Palm Bay, FL and Todd Reed and wife, Robin of Johnson City; two brothers, Phil Reed and wife, Grace and Mitchell Reed and wife, Barbara all of Johnson City; seven grandchildren, Cody and Robbie Reed, Josh Dobbins, David Little, Bobby Jean Reed, Amy and Dawn Reed; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Jeannie Arnett and husband, Hack. Funeral services for Mr. Reed will be conducted at 7:00 PM Saturday, April 5, 2014 in the Upper Room Family Worship Center, 2220 Midway Street, Johnson City with Rev. Phil Reed officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 5:00 PM until the service hour. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Sunday, April 6, 2014 in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. For those attending this service you are asked to meet at the cemetery.
