Huey Patrick Hampton Jr was born on July 15, 1969 to Huey Patrick Hampton and Pauline (Harrison) Williams in Pineville, Louisiana. He always knew he wanted to help people which lead him to get his CNA certification. Huey grew up in the church choir, which I believe is where his love for singing karaoke began. He later moved to Kingsport, Tennessee with family then to Johnson City, where he worked various jobs and actively volunteered in the community which eventually led him to starting his own business which he is well known as The Candy Man. Huey was called home at the age of 53 on December 8, 2022 @ 10:01 PM. He leaves behind to morn him, his mother, Pauline Williams; older brother, Earnest Harrison; two younger sisters, Angela and Monica Williams; three younger brothers, Collin, Michael, and Christopher Williams; three nephews, Davon, Darius, and Jaden Williams, four nieces, Au’Shaunta Williams (Ronnie), Makayla Williams, Victoria (Jessie) Cleek, and La’Keysha Williams and great nieces, and great nephew: Dawson, Willow, Wyatt, & Shiloh; as well as host of aunts, uncles, great aunts, uncles, cousins and a slew of friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Williams Jr. (Huey Patrick Hampton), younger brother, Robert Williams, grandparents, Paul Harrison and Frankie Chenevert Harrison, paternal grandparents, and host of aunts & uncles, great aunts and uncles. Huey was a great supporter of black culture, he loved to watch every black movie and TV show that has ever came out. Huey was very active and well known in his community as well as the church. He enjoyed singing in the Brotherhood choir at church, karaoke, as well as performing in various plays. Huey had a great love for his family and friends; he always stayed in touch no matter what. He had a fun loving spirit and he loved to dance and sing to Michael Jackson, The Temptation, Lionel Richie, Stevie Wonder, and Al Greene and he loved old school cars. Even though Huey was taken away from us far too young his memory will live on forever through all the lives he has touched. Funeral service will be conducted at 6:00 PM Monday, December 19, 2022 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until the service hour. “The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart, and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.” Psalm 34:18
