Mr. Homer Ferguson, 75, of Jonesborough passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2015 in the Center on Aging and Health in Erwin after a brief illness. He was a native of Jonesborough and was a son of the late James and Maebelle Kyker Ferguson. Mr. Ferguson was a retired truck driver having worked for Pilot Trucking and Mason-Dixon. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Teaster and a daughter, Janet Broyles. Survivors include a son, Mark Ferguson and his wife, Sharon of Jonesborough; two brothers, Kenneth Ferguson and his wife, Helen and Marvin Ferguson all of Jonesborough; a sister, Marjorie Beachler and her husband, Chip of Knoxville; four grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Friday, January 16, 2015 in the New Victory Methodist Church Cemetery in Jonesborough. Pallbearers will be selected from the family and friends. The family will receive friends Friday from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City then travel in procession to the cemetery. The family would like to give thanks to the staff of Center On Aging and Health Care for their hard work and kindness they have shown during this time.
