Helen Lowery Yates

Helen L. Yates, 93, of Jonesborough passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2021 in the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a native of Washington County and had lived in Mobil, Alalbama for 30 years before returning to Washington County in 1984. Mrs. Yates was a daughter of the late Elbert F. Lowery and Amanda Dunn Lowery. She had worked for First Tennessee Human Resources for many years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, William Knapp in 1983 and her second husband, Lawrence Yates in 2011; three sisters, Ruth Lowery, Gladys Helton and Mae Morelock; four brothers, Robert, Hubert, Charles and James Lowery. Survivors include many nieces and nephews. It was Mrs. Yates’s wish to be cremated and no services held.Read Obituary
