Helen Elizabeth Whitson

Helen Bowman Whitson, 85, Jonesborough passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at her residence. She was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County and was a daughter of the late William and Cora Tapp Bowman. Mrs. Whitson was a retired licensed practical nurse. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel McIntosh and two brothers, E.C. and Junior Bowman. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Page Whitson of the home; a daughter, Ann Whitson of Johnson City; a son, John P. Whitson and wife, Jeanette of Johnson City; a brother, Bobby Bowman and wife, Lynn of Elizabethton; five grandchildren, John Eric Whitson and wife, Kay, Jessica Bonnevie and husband, Ryan, Jeremy Whitson and wife, Andrea, Serena Blevins and husband, Robbie and Rachel Whitson; ten great-grandchildren, Alexis, Trevor, Anna, Taylor, Austin, Kailyn, Riley, Marie, Annabelle and Lily; also several nieces and nephews. Graveside services for Mrs. Whitson will be conducted at 12:00 noon Friday, February 19, 2016 in the Monte Vista Memorial Park of Johnson City with John Eric Whitson officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from the family and friends. For those attending this service you are asked to meet at the cemetery by 11:50 AM.
