Mrs. Hazel M. Cross, 81, 211 W. 3rd Avenue, Watauga passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at her residence. She was a native of Elizabethton and a daughter of the late Charles and Pearl Hickman Wilson. Mrs. Cross had worked in the food service industry for many years, including the Johnson City School System, Munsey Memorial Methodist Church and most recent for Sweet Celebration. She was a member of the River of Life Baptist Church in Piney Flats. Mrs. Cross loved collecting dolls, antiques and cooking. She also loved gospel music and her family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Carroll and her husband, Pat and a sister-in-law, Sheila Wilson. Survivors include her loving husband, Lester "Bud" Cross; two sons, David King and his wife, Pam and Douglas King and his wife, Karen all of Johnson City; a daughter, Diana Hyatt and her husband, Jimmy D. of Piney Flats; a step-son, Jeff Cross of Bluff City; a step-daughter, Kristi Roberts and her husband, Jeff of Bluff City; a brother, Jerry Wilson of Gray; four grandchildren, Whitney King, Rebecca King, Charles "Danny" Hyatt and Kevin Hyatt and his wife, Cathy; two great-grandchildren, Amber Ray and Austin Hyatt; three great-great-grandchildren, Timithy and Mykayla Ray and John White Jr.; also several nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Mrs. Cross will be conducted at 7:00 PM Friday, May 31, 2013 in the River of Life Baptist Church, 819 Austin Springs Road, Piney Flats with Pastors Donnie Humphreys, David Dugger and Larry Dugger officiating. Special music will be provided by Donnie Humphreys, Karen King and The Duggers. The family will receive friends at the church Friday from 5:00 PM until the service hour. Other times at the home in Watauga. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 1, 2013 in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Visitation: Friday May 31 2013 - 5:00 to 7:00 PM Services: Friday May 31 2013 - 7:00 PM Interment: Saturday June 1 2013 - 11:00 AMN
