Harry Morin Feigin, 102, of Johnson City passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2016 in the Johnson City Medical Center. He was born on March 6, 1913 (just two days before the Internal Revenue Service began levying and collecting income taxes), and reared in Eustis, Florida, which was homesteaded by his ancestors, among them Philias P. Morin. He graduated from the University of Florida in1937, with a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering. While there, he also played French Horn in the Fightin' Gator Marching Band. Harry was commissioned 2nd Lt. Field Artillery from ROTC, saw three tours of active duty as a junior officer in the Civilian Conservation Corps, extended active duty from July, 1940 until January, 1946 including: two years as Instructor, Gunnery Department, the Artillery School at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma; 100th Infantry Division as S-3 (Plans, Training, Gunnery) 925th FA Bn; promoted to Lt. Colonel as S-3, Division of Artillery; Combat with 100th Division in France and Germany; awarded the Bronze Star; and remained in Active Reserve until retirement as a Colonel. He worked for International Minerals and Chemicals Corporation from 1938 to 1972, beginning as Chemist and retiring as Corporate Manager of Office Services. Harry was very active in the Episcopal Church, as a licensed Lay Reader since 1946, and a Calicer since 1981. At St. John's in Johnson City he served on the vestry, was Coordinator of Lay Ministries for three years, trained Lay Readers, was Disbursing Treasurer, prepared service schedules, and was President of the Rectory Corp. He was married to Leonora Merle Howell in Montgomery, Alabama on May 25, 1935. After 71 years of happy and loving marriage she passed away in 2006. He is also predeceased by one daughter, Erin Anne Mueller. Harry is survived by his sister, Charlotte Seacord of Albuquerque, New Mexico, two grandchildren, Eric A. Mueller and wife, Ramona Ponce of New York and Karl M. Mueller and wife, Ursula Fritsch of Piedmont, CA; and one great grandchild, Sebastian A.F. Mueller of Piedmont, CA. Funeral services for Harry will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday, February 22, 2016 in the Chapel of St John's Episcopal Church, 500 N. Roan Street, Johnson City with The Rev. Hal Hutchison officiating. There will be a reception following the service in the Narthex of the church. Interment will be held at Mountain Home National Cemetery at 1:45 PM. Military Rites will be presented by the Tennessee Army National Guard Military Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers for those who desire may give to the Erin Feigin Mueller Memorial, 41 Glenn Street, Massena Public Library, Massena, NY 13662 or to the Memorial Funds of St John's Episcopal Church.
