Glenda Marie Vines Willis, 68, of 110 Harding Lane, Unicoi went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, February 7, 2016 in the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a Unicoi County native and a daughter of the late Homer and Ruby Sams Peters. Mrs. Willis attended McKinley Memorial Bible Church of Johnson City. She was a beautician for over 30 years having managed different salons in Johnson City, Kingsport and Atlanta and owning and operating her own salon. Mrs. Willis enjoyed art work, painting, making flower arrangements, gardening and enjoyed her family especially her grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Higgins and a sister, Jo Anne Carrillo. Survivors include her husband, Charles E. Vines of the home; a daughter, Shannon Zimmerman and her fiancAC., Tony York of Kingsport; a son, Timothy Zimmerman of Johnson City; an aunt, Nina Sams of Johnson City; three grandchildren, Landon Legg and wife, Jasmine, Brooke Zimmerman and Peyton Legg; special friends, Pamela Duncan, Sharon Grindstaff, Patricia and Randy Woodruff; Becky Sims and many more friends; also several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services for Mrs. Willis will be conducted at 7:00 PM Wednesday, February 10, 2016 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City with Pastor Lenny Smith officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 PM until the service hour. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday in the McKinley Memorial Bible Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from the family and friends. For those attending this service you are asked to meet at the cemetery.
