Mrs. Georgia Lee Carder, 74, 1412 Colony Park Drive, Johnson City passed away Friday, January 4, 2013 in the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a native of Carter County but had lived in Johnson City most of her life. Mrs. Carder was a daughter of the late Frank and Dutsey Street Britt. She was a member of the Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church and had worked for many years at the Downtown Christian Church as a cook for their Daycare Program. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Junior Carder in 1984; a step-son, Roger Carter; two brothers, Luther Britt and Hueitt "Slim" Britt. Survivors include a son, Michael Carder of Johnson City; two daughters, Lori White and her husband, John and Cynthia Carder both of Johnson City; two step-sons, Sam Carter and his wife, Linda of Mosheim and Johnny Carter of Morristown; a brother, Clarence Britt and his wife, Margaret of Johnson City; two grandchildren, Chad and Todd Riddle, Johnson City; also several nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Mrs. Carder will be conducted at 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 8, 2013 in the Woodall-Anderson and Dugger Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Crowe officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 11:30 AM until the service hour. Burial will follow in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from the family and friends.
