Gaynell F. Norris, age 75, of Johnson City, TN, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at the Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Dante, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late William Martin and Rosie Johnson Hartsock. She retired from TPI Industries in Johnson City, and was a member of Grace Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Norris was preceded in death by two brothers, Phil and Billy Hartsock. Survivors include a daughter, Linda Norris Britt and husband Nelson, Belton, SC; a son, Thomas Norris, and wife Melissa, Johnson City; two sisters, Naomi Rutherford, Kingsport, Dorothy Combs, Charleston, IN; four grandchildren, Thomas Britt, Samantha Britt, Rebekah Norris, Eric Norris; a special foster granddaughter, Chloe Hughes; three great grandchildren, Madison Britt, Alexis Feltman, and Brielle Britt. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Mrs. Norris will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, July 7, 2012 in the Woodall-Anderson & Dugger Funeral Home with Chaplain Dwight McPherson officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:30 until 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Sunday, July 8 in the Roselawn Memory Gardens. Everyone attending the service is asked to meet at the cemetery by 9:50 A.M. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Thomas Britt and Eric Norris.
