Geneva Gail Ward, 75 of Johnson City was welcomed into the arms of her precious Savior, Friday, June 12, 2015. Gail was born in Johnson City and was a daughter of the late Claude and Helen Little Lafollette. She graduated from Boones Creek High School in 1958. Gail was a member of the band, traveling with them to Washington, D.C. She was of the Baptist faith and loved to listen to southern gospel music. Gail loved to take care of her family, cooking, reading, word search puzzles and shopping. Her passion was taking care of her seven children, completely devoting herself to them. After they were all in school, she went to work for Mother Goose Day Care, where she retired after 24 years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Terry Ward; a brother, Bobby Jack Lafollette; a sister, Dorothy Hensley and a grandson, Jeffery Dale Ward. Gail leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of 56 years, Edward Ward. She also leaves six children, Perry Ward and wife, Amy, Sam Ward and wife, Patty, Mike (Lynn) Ward and wife, Judy, Joy Bowman and husband, Jerry, Danny Ward and wife, Donna and Tammy Ward and fiance, Bobby Hart; She also leaves nineteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Graveside services for Gail will be conducted at 2:30 PM Sunday, June 14, 2015 in the Monte Vista Memorial Park with Pastor Todd Wolfe officiating. Active pallbearers will be Perry, Sam, Lynn, Danny Ward, Jerry Bowman and Bobby Hart; Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons. The family will receive friends at Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City Sunday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM then proceed to the cemetery. Other times at the home.
