Frances B. Brown

Frances B. Brown, 84, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2016 at the Cornerstone Health Care in Johnson City. She was a lifelong native of Johnson City and was the daughter of James and Ossie Mae Crumb. Mrs. Brown was a member of the Keystone Freewill Baptist Church. She retired from Dennis Powell Chrysler where she had worked as office manager for many years. Mrs. Brown loved the outdoors and gardening. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Brown in 1972: a daughter, Belinda Owens; also a sister-in-law, Ina Margaret Crumb. Survivors include a son, John Boring and his wife, Harriett of Johnson City; a brother, John Crumb of Johnson City; two grandchildren, Melissa Owens and Marsha Ellis and her husband, James all of Johnson City; four great-grandchildren, Justin and Ryan Owens, Austin and Heather Ellis; also three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Brown will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 10, 2016 in the Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City with Rev. Mike Garland officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 Pm until the service hour. Interment will follow in the Monte Vista Memorial Park.
