Ethel Jean Mitchell, 74, of Johnson City passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City and was a daughter of the late John and Bertha Hunter Early. Mrs. Mitchell was retired from Vaughn Furniture. She was a member of the Keystone Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Jeff Mitchell and two sisters, June Lascola and Sue Hudson; a brother, Jim Mosley.Survivors include a daughter, Angela Buckles and husband, Jimmy of Elizabethton; two brothers, Felix Early of Telford and Carl Mosley of Johnson City; two grandchildren, Matthew Mitchell of Greeneville and David Mitchell of Chuckey; several nieces;Funeral services for Mrs. Mitchell will be conducted at 7:00 PM Friday, November 16, 2018 in the Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City with Rev. Bill Greer officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 PM until the service hour. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday in the Philadelphia Cemetery, Chuckey. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Ethel was a very special lady.  She spoke frequently about her family and expressed her love for them. She and I had several conversations and we always ended up laughing and having a good time.  I am really going to miss her and  I will be praying for all of her family.  Ethel is now in Heaven with the Lord.
