Mrs. Eska Louise Dixon, 79, 235 Cascade Creek Trail, Etowah, NC passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013 at her residence. She was a native of Johnson City and was a daughter of the late Roscoe and Leakie Arrowood Stockton. Mrs. Dixon was a member of the Pentecostal faith and a retired CNA. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Dixon; a daughter, Brenda Rice Driver; four brothers, Buford, Earl, Bobby and Jimmy Stockton; three sisters, Mary Stockton, Marie Tipton and Dora Love; a grandson, Adam Vestal and a great-granddaughter, Haylie Melton. Survivors include a daughter, Debra Rice Jones and husband, Mark of Etowah, NC; two brothers, Andrew Stockton and his wife, Margaret of Jonesborough and Jerome Stockton and his wife, Helen of Johnson City; three sisters, Alda Farmer of Flag Pond, Vivian Silvers and Sarah Bowers both of Jonesborough; four grandchildren, Amanda Caudill and husband, Matthew, Amber Melton and husband, Colt, Andrew "Bubba" Vestal and Joseph Christopher Driver; six great-grandchildren, McKenzie and Cheyanne Avery Melton, Tyler, Skyler and Stormie Caudill and Joseph Christopher Driver Jr.; and her best friend and companion her dog, Tinker Bell; also may nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Dixon will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 2, 2013 from the Roseville Baptist Church in Flag Pond with Rev. Jerry Silvers officiating. The body will lie in state from 1:00 PM until the service time. Burial will follow in the Roseville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Matt Bowers, Eddie and Dallas Farmer, Arthur Metcalf, Jerry Silvers and Lonnie Stockton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, April 1, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
