Mr. Elmer White, 94, Telford went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the Life Care Center of Gray. He was a native of Sharps Chapel, Tennessee and was a son of the late Dewey and Emma Calloway White. Mr. White retired from the Johnson City Power Board and then enjoyed working on his farm and with his cattle. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Limestone. Mr. White was a U.S. Army Veteran having served his country in during World War II. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Ferguson White in 2000; three brothers, Chester, Roma and Lawrence White; three sisters, Ruth Broyles, Vada Broyles and Eula Mae McBride.Survivors include his son, Mike White of Telford; his daughter, Judy Stewart and her husband, John of Telford; a brother, J.C. White and wife, Margaret of Telford; three grandchildren, Angie Tillman and husband, Anthony of Knoxville, Amy Johnson and husband, Dave of Johnson City and Steven White and Caroline Wazer of New York City; great-grandchildren, Owen and Emma Kate Johnson of Johnson City and Anderson Tillman of Knoxville; also several nieces and nephews.A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at the Lighthouse Baptist Church, Highway 81 South, Jonesborough with Mr. Fred Malone officiating. Graveside services will follow in the Telford Methodist Church Cemetery with Mr. Jim Ferguson officiating. Pallbearers will be Anthony Tillman, Dave Johnson, Steven White, Rick McBride, Jeff Clyburn and Allen Jarrett.The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 PM until the service hour. The family respectively asks that no flowers be sent, for those who desire may make contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Judy and family, I’m so sorry for your loss and will remember you and your family through this time of grief. Although we don’t grieve as those with no hope, we nevertheless grieve! We will see our loved ones again!

Judy and Mike, I am so sorry for loss. He was one of our favorite Uncles as he visited with Dad often. The two of them were close as they worked together for so many years both at the Power Board as well as farming. He will be missed.
