Ellen Callas Bronner, age 84, of the Waters of Johnson City went to be with her Lord on Friday, March 1, 2019. She was born in Pequot Lakes, Minnesota on March 6, 1934 to Mike and Ella Musolf Callas. Ellen married Kenneth Bronner on September 17, 1950 at Gloria De Lutheran Church in Pequot Lakes, MN. After marrying, Ellen centered her life on her family, raising four children and settling in Bristol, Tennessee after Ken’s four year time in the Air Force. She was a Lutheran by faith and devoted her life to the Lord. Ellen was a very active member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Johnson City. She was a founding member of the Boone Lake Association and served on that board in many different capacitates. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth E. Bronner in 2018 and a son, Steven Kenneth Bronner who passed on February 9, 2017.Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Janise Louise Bronner Sizemore, Michael Adrian Bronner and wife, Sylvia and Susan Bronner Babik and husband, Bill; thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.The funeral service for Ellen will be conducted Friday, March 8, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 201 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City with Pastor Steve Harmon officiating. Interment will follow in the East Tennessee Cemetery, Blountville. The grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 7, 2019 from 3:30 to 5:30 PM at Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City and also Friday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church from 9:30 to 10:45 AM.
