Edward Eugene Ward

Edward Eugene Ward, 85, of Johnson City passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2014 in the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City and was the son of the late Orville and Maxie Taylor Ward. Mr. Ward was retired from the Kingsport Press. He was a graduate of Science Hill High School where he played in the band. Mr. Ward was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church in Johnson City. He enjoyed bowling, golf, tennis and dancing. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Neal Ward. He is survived by a cousin and caregiver, Larry Brooks Taylor and his wife, Rita of Johnson City; also eight other cousins. Graveside services for Mr. Ward will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday, January 5, 2015 in the Monte Vista Memorial Park with Pastor Tony Trott officiating. Everyone attending this service you are asked to meet at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to the First Freewill Baptist Church, 302 Colorado Street, Johnson City, TN 37601.
