Edna Grace Fillers

Edna Grace Fillers, 83 of Johnson City went home to be with the Lord, Friday, January 6, 2017 in the NHC Health Care of Johnson City. She was a native of Hawkins County and was a daughter of the late Clifton and Effie Herron Mellons. Mrs. Fillers was a homemaker and attended Sinking Creek Baptist Church. She loved her family and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, R.A. Fillers in 2003; a sister, Mildred Smith and three brothers, George, Grady and M.J. Mellons. Survivors include four daughters, Phyllis Penix, Mary Murray, Brenda Lunceford and Betsy Hopson; two sons, Robert and Joe Fillers; a sister, Mary Tittle; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Fillers will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 12, 2017 in the Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue with Pastor Jayson Hoagland officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until the service hour. Interment will follow in the Horse Creek Church of God Cemetery, Chuckey, TN; Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
