Edna Louise Baker Nave, 75, 309 S. Barton Street, Johnson City went home to be the Lord, Saturday, April 25, 2015 at her residence .She was a lifelong resident of Johnson City and was a daughter of the late Samuel and Eva Carter Baker. Mrs. Nave was a member of the Rich Acres Freewill Baptist Church. She worked for Rolfe's Cafeteria 26 years and retired from Schlotzsky's Deli. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by five brothers, Johnny, Cecil, Freddie, Sammy and Paul Baker. Survivors include her daughter, Donna Adams and husband, Robert of Erwin; five sisters, Hazel Wilson, Edith Bowman, Emma Jean Bennett and husband, Ray and Naomi Freeman all of Johnson City, and Mary Ann Street and husband, Jack of North Carolina; four grandchildren, Shane, Robbie, Bobby and Aaron Adams; five great-grandchildren, Conner, Kayla, Madison, Kooper and Elijah Adams also Cody Hensley, Tyler Davis and Paige Deloach; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Nave will be conducted at 7:00 PM Monday, April 27, 2015 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City with the Rev. Kenneth Grindstaff officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 PM until the service hour. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 28, 2015 in the Highland Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Timmy and Teddy Clawson, Kenny Freeman, Dean Walser, Dennis Bennett and Robbie Walser. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Bowman, Ronnie Baker, Ernie Wilson and Doug Wilson. For those attending this service you are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:15 to go in procession to the cemetery. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Mountain States Hospice Group especially Danielle Barker for the wonderful care they provided.
