Edith Herrell Forbes

Edith Herrell Forbes, 83, of Unicoi went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, October 22, 2017 in the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a native and lifelong resident of Unicoi County and was a daughter of the late William and Rebecca Miller Herrell. Mrs. Forbes was a member of Faith Tabernacle in Johnson City. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Forbes in 2007; a daughter, Patricia Huskins; a brother, Troy Herrell and two sisters, Daisy Herrell and Maria Herrell.   Survivors include two sons, Steve Hefflin and wife, Pat and Greg Forbes and wife, Melody all of Unicoi; a daughter, Cathy Collins and husband, Mike of Ohio; a sister, Beth Vago of Unicoi; a brother, Charles Herrell of Georgia; a special friend, Jackie Dugger; nineteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Forbes will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, October 26, 2017 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City with Pastor E.L. Wheeler and Rev. Tommy Collins officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until the service hour. Private family graveside services will be held at Garland Cemetery in Erwin.
