Doyle Gene Bland

Doyle Gene Bland, 90 of Erwin passed away Sunday, November 20, 2016 in the Erwin Health Care Center. He was a native of Greenfield, Tennessee and was a son of the late Guy and Lena Bland. Mr. Bland lived in Greeneville, TN before moving to Erwin. He retired from Holston Defense where he had worked in government for many years. Mr. Bland was a World War II veteran having served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Bland. Survivors include two sons, Boyce Bland of Gray and Brian Bland and wife, Tammy of Johnson City; also a special friend, Wanda Martin of Johnson City. Graveside services for Mr. Bland will be conducted at 1:00 PM Monday, November 28, 2016 in the Washington County Memory Gardens with Rev. Gene Deaton officiating. For those attending this service you are asked to meet at the cemetery.
