Dortha Mae Robinette, 82, Erwin passed away Friday, December 24, 2021 in the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a native and lifelong resident of Erwin and was a daughter of the late John and Edith Laws Yates. Dortha owned and operated the Little Country Store in Erwin for many years. She loved the Lord and enjoyed attending church when her health permitted. She loved children and had babysitted for so many down through the years. Dortha loved working on crafts and playing games on her computer. Her greatest joys were her family. The love for her family was unwavering. Dortha had a deep love for animals, especially cats. She lived her entire life with a strong faith in God. Her last words spoken was praising his name in prayer. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, David Lane. Survivors include a son, Gene “Robby” Robinette and wife, Pam of Erwin, TN; a daughter, Donna Pate and her husband, Jerome of Cocoa, Florida; grandchildren, David Butler and wife, Addie of Alliance, OH, Ginger Matson and husband, James of Erwin, Chelsia Satterfield and husband, Xavier of Greer, SC and Bethany Pate of Eustis, FL; great-grandchildren, Zech Matson, Ben Matson, Presley Butler, Bristol Satterfield, Bella Pate and Maizy Pate; brother, Johnny Lee Yates and wife, Phoebe of Johnson City; a special cousin, Brenda Jones and husband, Shawn; Several nieces and nephews. Private family graveside services for Dortha will be conducted Tuesday, December 28, 2021 in the Bethesda United Methodist Church Cemetery, Lamar Community with Pastor Eddie Blazer. Pallbearers will be selected from her family and friends. For those attending this service you are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50 AM. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Unicoi County Animal Shelter, 185 N. Industrial Drive, Erwin, TN 37650.
