Dorothy L. Price

Dorothy L. Price, 71, 205 Second Avenue, Jonesborough went home to be with the Lord, Monday, March 16, 2015 in the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late Elmer and Lola Barnett Depew. Dorothy was a founding member of the Kingdom Vision Church in Johnson City. She retired from Levi-Straus and Company. Dorothy was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Monroe Price; two brothers, Clarence and Weldon Depew and two nephews, Darrell and Raymond Depew. Survivors include three daughters, Melanie Hughes of Johnson City, Teresa Glover of Jonesborough and Rhonda Phillips and husband, Tony of Kingsport; seven grandchildren, Justin Vaughn and wife, Heather, Julie Vaughn, Morgan Vaughn, Jonathan Glover, Allison Glover, Clay Phillips and Kaity Phillips; two great-grandchildren, Addie Vaughn and Kaelyn Jones; her brothers and sisters, Bobby Depew, Wayne Depew and wife, Joann, Margaret Hurley, Ruth Goodman and husband, Luther, Mildred Phillips and husband, Carroll, Mary Lee Shell and husband, A.E., David Depew, Christine Coleman and husband, Grant, Karen Young and husband, Don, Ronald Depew and wife, Wyoma, Donald Depew and wife, Charlene, Jenny Depew and Bill Depew and wife, Sherrie; also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Price will be conducted at 7:00 PM Thursday, March 19, 2015 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City with the Rev. Eugene Penland officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home form 5:00 PM until the service hour. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, March 20, 2015 in the Lyons Cemetery, Elizabethton. Active pallbearers will be Justin Vaughn, Jonathan Glover, Clay Phillips, Tony Phillips, Aaron Ensor and Allen Collins. Honorary pallbearers will be her brothers, Bobby, Wayne, David, Ronald, Donald and Bill Depew. For those attending this service you are asked to meet at the funeral home Friday by 10:30 AM to go in procession to the cemetery. The family would like to give special thanks to Larent Gregg and the entire staff of Johnson City Medical Center for the wonderful care they provided.
