Dorothy Lee Harris

Dorothy Lee Harris, 80, Johnson City passed away Sunday, April 17, 2022 at her residence with her loving family at her side. She was a native of Erwin, Tennessee and was a daughter of the late Charles and Beatrice Gibson Gray. Mrs. Harris had worked in the Medical field for many years as a nurse. She was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Berlin Harris in 2018 and two sons, James David Harris and Paul Allen Harris. Survivors include her children, Nina Bailey and husband, Jerry of Unicoi, Charles “Chuck” Harris of Johnson City, Jeff Harris and his wife, Marcie of Elizabethton, Berlin Harris Jr. of Johnson City and Timmy Harris of Johnson City; a brother, James Gray and his wife, Louise of Erwin; a sister, Nyoka Eggers of Piney Flats; fifteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; five nieces and two nephews. Graveside services for Mrs. Harris will be conducted at 1:00 PM Tuesday, April 26, 2022 in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Family will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 11:30 to 12:30 PM at Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City then proceed to the cemetery.
