Delores Ann Markland

Delores Ann Markland, 63, Johnson City passed away Sunday, March 8, 2020 at her residence with her family at her side. She was a native of Johnson City and was a daughter of the late Dewey Lee Hopson and Polly Pauline Hicks Hopson. Mrs. Markland retired from the International Story Telling Center in Jonesborough. She was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Florene Teague and Marilyn Presnell; a brother, Johnny Lee Hopson. Survivors include her children, Daisy Markland of Johnson City; a son, Phillip Markland and wife, Mitzi of Kingsport, Jamie Markland of Piney Flats and Frankie Markland and wife, Angela of Unicoi; a sister, Barbara Hopson of Johnson City; a brother, Billy Hopson and wife, Martha of Johnson City; grandchildren, Ashley King and husband, Michael, Ryan Markland, Hayley Markland, Zak Cross, Katie Calandros, Ian Markland and Owen Markland; also several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM in Peterson Family Cemetery, Unicoi with Mr. Louie Blevins officiating. Family will serve as pallbearers.Read Obituary
