David Leonard Shepherd

August 13, 1931 - March 29, 2020

David L. Shepherd, 88, Elizabethton passed away Sunday, March 29, 2020 at his residence with his family at his side. He was a native of Johnson City and was a son of the late Julius Briscoe Shepherd and Mary Samantha Hammond Shepherd. He was retired from the U.S. Army where he had served his country proudly. After retirement he had worked and retired from Amerace Corporation. Mr. Shepherd was a member of the East River Park Christian Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Imogene Frances Pickle Shepherd in 2019; his first wife, Helma Jean Lewis Shepherd in 2001; three brothers, Millard, James and Grover Shepherd; two sisters, Vicie Louharrit Cribbs and Dorothy Ann Emory. Survivors include three daughters, Rebecca Gregg and husband, Kenneth of Elizabethton, Mary Ann Motychak and husband, Charles Victor of Maryville and Linda Arnold of Johnson City; two sons, Wayne Shepherd and wife, Sherry of Elizabethton and Ronnie Arnold of Johnson City; a brother, Richard Shepherd; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Due to the current guidelines set forth by the CDC all services at this time will be held privately by the Shepherd family. A graveside service with full Military Honors will be conducted at a later date. This date will be announced in the Press when this is possible. Condolences may be made online at www.wadugger.com.
