David Ray Garland

David Ray Garland, 51, 406 Montgomery Street, Johnson City passed away unexpectedly Monday, April 4, 2016 at his residence. He was a native of Johnson City and a son of Betty Ruth Sparks Garland of Johnson City and the late J.D. Garland Sr.. David was the most loving person and had the most loving spirit of anyone that we ever knew. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Bethel Jingle. Survivors in addition to his mother includes a daughter, Danielle Fry of Gray; two sisters, Trish Garland of Johnson City and Sherina Garland of Chuckey; three brothers, Jimmy Garland of Elizabethton, Jay Dee Garland Jr. of Johnson City and Johnny Garland and wife, Lynda Lea of Johnson City; eleven nieces and nephews and six great-nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Garland will be conducted at 7:00 PM Friday, April 8, 2016 in the chapel of Woodall-Anderson and Dugger Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Randall officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 PM until the service hour. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday in the Pleasant View Church of the Brethren Cemetery, 296 Brethren Church Road, Jonesborough. Pallbearers will include Dalton and Dustin Fleming and Travis Garland. For those attending this service you are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:15 AM to go in procession to the cemetery.
