David Carder

David Carder, 57, 135 Woodland Circle #2, Jonesborough passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at his residence after a brief illness. He was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County and was a son of Margarette Gray Carder and the late Billy Dean Carder Jr... Mr. Carder had been employed with Hampton Print Works. He was a member of the Greenwood Baptist Church. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Tom and Mary Carder and his maternal grandparents, John and Estelle Gray; also several aunts and uncles. Survivors include his mother, Margarette Gray Carder; two sons, Matthew Carder and Richard Wallace and wife Sue; a brother, Dean Carder and wife, Betty; three granddaughters, Amber, Madalyn and Harley Wallace; two uncles, Wayne and Jack Carder; an aunt, Yvonne Tarlton and husband, Jimmie; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Carder will be conducted at 7:00 PM Friday, January 17, 2014 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City with the Rev. Terry Cloyd officiating. The family will greet friends Friday from 5:00 PM until the service hour. Graveside services for David will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Wendall Smotherman, Jimmy Green, Darren Carder, Tyler Briggs, Jeff Frazier and Steve "Buda" Crouch. Honorary pallbearers will be Ron Saults, Kenny Jennings, Arthur Casey and Ben Grizzle. For those attending this service you are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 AM to go in procession to the cemetery.
