Darrell R. Davis

Darrell R. Davis, 56, 554 Young Road, Unicoi passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2012 in the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native of Unicoi County and was a son of the late Isaac Davis and Vada Hurt Davis Blankenship. Mr. Davis worked in the Health Care Industry beginning his career in the Johnson City Medical Center then working as the business office manager for the Halifax Regional Medical Center in Daytona. Then served as vice-president of ACT Hospital of Daytona. He attended the Limestone Cove Christian Church and loved art and painting. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Rhuel Davis; a sister-in-law, Helen Davis; two nieces, Melissa Byrd and Carolyn Evans and a nephew, Randall Davis. Survivors include a daughter, Brooke Davis, Gainsville, FL; a brother, Morris Davis, Unicoi; four sisters, Roma Hill and her husband, Stanley, Florida, Rometa Miller, Florida, Brenda Chambers and her husband, Nathan of Elizabethton and Teresa Yercheck of Unicoi; a sister-in-law, Brenda Price, Jonesborough; special friends, Leonard Cross, Elizabethton and John Salinas of Johnson City; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. The funeral service for Mr. Davis will be conducted at 8:00 PM Friday, July 6, 2012 in the Woodall-Anderson and Dugger Funeral Home with Minister Wayne Mottern officiating. Eulogy will be provided by Leonard Cross. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 Pm. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 7, 2012 in the Banks Cemetery, Limestone Cove. Pallbearers will be John Salina, Esteban Salina, Fred Cochran, Sam Ward, Jesse Shumake and Daniel McKinney. For those attending the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:50 AM Saturday.
