C. Diane Whittemore, 53, 512 Magnolia Avenue, Johnson City passed away Thursday, November 20, 2014 in the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City. Diane was a daughter of Betty Whittemore-Austin and the late Thomas W. Whittemore Sr... She had worked for Wal-Mart, W. Market Street for many years. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by a son, Travis Campbell; her maternal grandparents, Hollie and Becky Samples; her paternal grandparents, T.R. and Irene Whittemore. Survivors include her mother and step-father, Betty Whittemore-Austin and Julian Austin; three daughters, Hollie Campbell and Byron Bristol, Heather Campbell and Haley Campbell all of Johnson City; seven grandchildren, Brienna, Daliah, Olivia, Kyron, Isiaha, Elijah and Kendra; two brothers, Thomas Wayne Whittemore Jr. and wife, Yvette of Kingsport and Eric T. Whittemore and wife, Penny of Johnson City; also several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 2:00 to 4:00 PM Sunday, November 23, 2014 in the chapel of Woodall-Anderson and Dugger Funeral Home. It was Diane's wish to be cremated. The family would like to offer special thanks to the staff and nurses of the Mountain States Health Alliance Hospice Group and the Johnson City Medical Center 2200 floor for the compassion and care they provided Diane and the family during her illness.
