Cora Rebecca (Becky) Barnes

Cora Rebecca "Becky" Barnes, age 82, of 117 Hallborough Dr., Jonesborough, TN, went home to Heaven to be with Jesus on Monday, October 1, 2012 at her residence following a brief illness. A native of Unicoi County, she was a daughter of the late Alvin M. and Agnes P. Spaller Jones. Mrs. Barnes attended Rich Acres Freewill Baptist Church, where she was a member of the church choir. She retired from the Johnson City Medical Center as a Medical Records Clerk. Mrs. Barnes loved her family and her church family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, David Jones. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, James Barnes, of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Trena Taylor and husband Douglas, Jonesborough, Joan Coffey and husband Larry, Irmo, SC; one brother, Alvin Jones, Jr., Adamsville, TN; two sisters, Bernice Tipton and Wanda Peters, both of Johnson City; four grandchildren, Angela Colvin and husband Kenn, Melissa Harkleroad, Heather Hiegl and husband Eric, and Daniel Coffey; four great grandchildren, Taylor, Travis, Hunter, and Lila. The graveside funeral service for Mrs. Barnes will be held Thursday, October 4, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. in Rheatown Cemetery, Rheatown, TN with Rev. Kenneth Grindstaff and Rev. Bill Greer officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home at 9:15 A.M. Thursday. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 3, 2012 from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. in the chapel of Woodall-Anderson & Dugger Funeral Home. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Doctors and Staff of Franklin Woods Community Hospital, the Staff of Medical Center Hospice and Dr. Guy Robbins and Staff.
