Gayle Clark, 73, 3107 Industrial Drive, Johnson City went to be with the Lord, Sunday night, February 15, 2015 at her residence. She was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City and was a daughter of the late Lee and Leona Evans Street. Mrs. Clark attended the Happy Valley Church of Jesus Christ. Gayle was the best mother and wife anyone could ask for, while also a kind and caring person to all. Always close to her Lord and Savior, we know it is in His arms she is resting after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Her gentle, nurturing spirit was our foundation and the building blocks for who we became. She will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Herbert and Evans Street; also two sisters, Helen Littleton and Nora Shull. Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Sam Clark; two sons, Stephen Clark and his wife, Morgan of Johnson City and Tim Clark and his wife, Amy of Telford; a brother, Darrell Street and wife, Shirley; five sisters, Dorcas Hale, Becky Combs and husband, Fred, Brenda Butler and husband, Mack, Billie Archer and husband, Herman and Linda Phillips and husband, Jerry; four grandchildren, Paige, Abigail, Ian and Leah Clark; also several nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Mrs. Clark will be conducted at 7:00 PM Monday, March 9, 2015 in the Happy Valley Church of Jesus Christ with Bro. Donny Reagan and Bro Terry Horn officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 5:00 PM until the service hour. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to the Happy Valley Church of Jesus Christ Missionary Fund, in c/o Jim Babb, 2733 Elizabethton Highway, Johnson City, TN 37601.
