Clarence Sherman Story

Sherman Story, 75, 2503 Sinking Creek Road, Johnson City passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014 at his residence. He was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County and was a son of the late William and Georgia Harrell Story. Mr. Story was a retired truck driver having worked for Interstate Foundry and Bailey Company. He was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ted and Ray Story; three sisters, Jean Peters, Bessie White and Wanda Kellum. Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Dessie Howell Story of the home; a son, Darrell Story and wife, Connie of Jonesborough; a daughter, Tina Story and Clay Tarlton of Jonesborough; two sisters, Faye Dean and husband, Charles of Mississippi and Mildred Sheets and husband, Charlie of Jonesborough; three grandchildren, Craig Story and wife, Diane of Bluff City, Eric Story and Rylee Story both of Johnson City; six great-grandchildren; special friends, Richard Fair, Mike Howell and David Higgins. Also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Story will be conducted at 7:00 PM Wednesday, April 16, 2014 in the Chapel of Woodall-Anderson and Dugger Funeral Home with the Rev. David Foster and Rev. Bobby Miller officiating. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, April 17, 2014 in the Barnett Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Eric and Craig Story, Bill Broyles, Billy Warren, Steve Price and Clay Tarlton. Everyone attending this service is asked to meet at the cemetery. The family would like to give special thanks to Amedisys Hospice Group especially Teresa and Sherry for the wonderful care they provided.
