Clarence Eugene Gregg, Jonesborough, TN, 86, has entered into his heavenly home. He died peacefully on Saturday, May 12, 2108 in Lifecare, Skilled Nursing Facility.He was the son of the late Jim and Nellie Gregg. His mother, Lucille passed away in his early youth at age 9. In addition to his parents, one sister Mary Ellen Howell and Bob, one niece Tonia Gregg “his Buddy” that loved her uncle dearly.Clarence shared 59 years of marriage to the late Lucille Bailey Gregg. She was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother.He is survived by; two daughters, Patricia Woodward and Randy of Gray, TN, Diane Thompson and David of Sevierville, TN.; One “GrandDog” China Baby; three grandson, Trey Dillon and Bonnie of Erwin, TN, Cory Dillon and Brittany of Jonesborough, TN, Paige Thompson Edwards and Grant of Saint Peters, MO; one great grandchild, Hudson Dillon of Erwin; siblings James “Jimmy” Gregg of Johnson City, Caroline Mobley and Eddie of Jonesborough, TN. He had many nieces and nephews that he loved.Clarence graduated from Science Hill in 1950. He was the co-owner of Gregg’s Upholstery Shop in Jonesborough. He retired from Pepsi Cola Bottling Company after 20 yrs. of service as a Sales Manager. He was a charter member of Lynnwood Christian Church. He was also a member of Greenwood Baptist Church in his latter yrs. His daily enjoyment was studying his bible. He was a devoted Christian. In his earlier years he enjoyed fishing, traveling to the beach and gardening. Clarence treasured the times spent with his children and grandchildren and will be remembered for his loving kindness.A celebration of Clarence’s life will be held on Wednesday May 16, 2018 in the East chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Steve Davis of Greenwood Baptist Church and Tony Richard Duncan, Jr. of Lynnwood Christian Church officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until the service hour. Graveside services will be conducted following the service at Monte Vista Memorial Park.Pallbearers will be Randy Woodward, David Thompson, Trey Dillon, Cory Dillon, Eddie Mobley and David Hart. Honorary pallbearers; Tim Mobley, Eddie Mobley Jr.The family would like to thank the caregivers of Lifecare for their wonderful care of Clarence. A special thanks to Pastor Harold McNabb for years of visitation and kindness shown for both parents, will be lovingly remembered.
